I received two bits of information this week regarding Johanna Skibsrud's Giller Award winning The Sentimenntalists:
|Only 800 copies originally printed|
1. The original printer, Gaspereau Press, has agreed to a deal with Vancouver’s Douglas & McIntyre to reprint 30,000 copies for the second printing (a jump from the 800 copies Gaspereau printed for the first run, but still a fairly small run) - they've even unveiled a new cover.
2. The first edition copy that I tried to acquire through Amazon.ca for $22 is not obtainable. They sent me an email this morning telling me so & canceling my order. oh well, it was a good try.
