The movie Bailout, based on Jess Walter's The Financial Lives of the Poets, is set to begin filming in August of this year. The comedy will be directed by Michael Winterbottom and star Jack Black.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Walter wrote the screenplay "which details the story of one man's attempt to come back from the brink of financial ruin after meeting a couple of losers in a late night supermarket."
No release dates for the film were given. In general, books that transition to film have a tendency to see an spike in sales just prior to the movie's release.
