The Washington Post
reported that Irish author Maeve Binchy died yesterday after a brief illness. She was 72.
Binchy was the author of 16 novels and numerous short stories, the settings for which primarily centered around small towns in Ireland and dealt with human relationships and conflicts. Well aware that her books were popular beach reads, she called herself "an escapist kind of writer."
If you haven't picked up one of her books, you might just give it a try - they are rich on character development and enjoyable, easy reads.
