While Anne Hillerman is not quite her father, Spider Woman's Daughter is a rather good debut and a good continuation of the story.
Even though this is billed as a “Leaphorn & Chee" novel, the main character is actually Bernadette “Bernie” Manualito (Chee's wife), with Leaphorn and Chee actually playing minor roles in the storyline.
Consensus, so far, is that Anne Hillerman has done a good job maintaining her father's characters and story telling style, so that fans of Tony Hillerman won't be disappointed.
Library Journal gave it a starred review. Kirkus & Booklist give it a good (if not starred) reviews.
